The long-awaited meeting of musicians who collaborate on the One Music project took place in the premises of a monastery in Marianka near Bratislava.
The union of two early music ensembles Barokksolistene from Norway and Solamente naturali from Slovakia is a natural outcome of 25 years of cooperation between Miloš Valent and Bjarte Ejke and their related view and immersion into the world of music, which in their perception is losing the contours of standard genres, when melodies and dances from old manuscripts preserved both in Slovakia and Scandinavia come to life in front of us in a new dress and attractiveness. During the four-day workshop, both ensembles had the opportunity to bring all the ideas that the musicians had been communicating and preparing for many months at a distance into a joint music-making and creative work. Among our melodies and Nordic melodies, contemporary composers from Slovakia and Norway have a prominent place in this project, in which many extinct and newly brought to the world compositions are also an inspiration. Mishko Palko, one of the composers came to Marianka to present his composition to the musicians. The atmosphere of this first meeting is perhaps best seen in the photographs captured by the renowned photographer Vladimir Yurkovich.
